Powers of Attorney
These are powerful legal documents which allow any individual, over the age of 18, to appoint someone to look after their affairs should they no longer be able to make decisions for themselves.
By creating Lasting Powers of Attorney in advance ensures that if the worst were to happen both your financial affairs and personal welfare are in safe hands.
There are two types of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare.
A Property & Financial Affairs Lasting Powers of Attorney lets the people you choose make decisions about, for example: Buying and selling your property, opening, closing and operating bank accounts in your name, and claiming, receiving and using your benefits, pensions and allowances. This Lasting Powers of Attorney can also be used as a General Power of Attorney.
